Drinking water wells in Mangalagama village The Ampara YMCA and Mission of Hope 2007 provided materials for building new drinking water wells in Mangalagama village to assist this community of civil-war refugees who were forced out of their original homes and resettled here. Brother Huxley Siriwardene & Godfrey Sajith Liyanage (both officers at the Ampara YMCA) worked with Fred Breedlove to assist the civil-war refugees and victims with drinking water wells, toilets, small business start-up, and other projects financed by Fred and his many supporters in the USA. Mountain View Community Church of Snohomish and World Impact Network were major sponsors of Mission of Hope 2007.
Mission of Hope 2007 Sewing Center in Kalmunai Fred Breedlove (Bothell, Washington, USA) and World Impact Network (Bellevue, Washington, USA) partnered in establishing a Sewing Center in Kalmunai for Tsunami Widows and Single Women who were victims of the 2004 Tsunami. This project provided income for several women in Kalmunai at a time when they were receiving very little or no help from anyone. The Kalmunai YMCA building, where the Sewing Center was located, was remodeled and improved in order to accomodate the new Sewing Center. Brother Huxley Siriwardene (Ampara YMCA) and the late Samuel Arulraja (Kalmunai YMCA) worked with Fred Breedlove on this Mission of Hope.
